Another interesting fact first, before we get into the song. This one is about “mondegreen,” and its relation to this song. Here’s something found Wikipedia:
A mondegreen is the mishearing or misinterpretation of a phrase as a result of near homophony, in a way that gives it a new meaning…American writer Sylvia Wright coined the term in her essay "The Death of Lady Mondegreen," published in Harper's Magazine in November 1954...
...The song "Sea Lion Woman", recorded in 1939 by Christine and Katherine Shipp, was performed by Nina Simone under the title "See Line Woman" and later by Feist as "Sealion". [Here to read further @ Wikipedia]
Lady Mondegreen…LOL!!!

Below is the first record version ever made found in A Treasury of Library of Congress Field Recordings. It is performed by Christine and Katherine Shipp, and back then in 1939, it wasn’t clear what the real title is.
Christine and Katherine Shipp – ???

Nina Simone (real name Eunice Kathleen Waymon) was a great jazz-blues singer of the sixties. She was also a talented pianist, songwriter, and a civil rights activist too. She reached the peak of her singing career in early to mid 60s. Her version of See Line Woman was recorded for her Broadway-Blues-Ballads album, released in 1964.

Leslie Feist, a Canadian singer-songwriter, is one among few good musicians I could find from the later era (around 2000). She mainly plays indie pop/rock, and what I like from her, besides her vocal and guitar play, is her improvisation in live performances; from compositions that differ from the recorded versions to massive vocal layering on-stage. She recorded Sea Lion Woman for her third album, The Reminder, in 2007.
